By inviting all visitors to take a seat on the Diamant Sessel / Diamond Chair and drink a glass of mineral water, Helwing breaks one of the golden rules of museums worldwide. The simple interference with the
house rules is reminiscent of O’Doherty’s inferral of white  space from the realm of the sacred. Helwing is subtly pointing to a necessary shift: the museum is no longer a place of worship, but by the same token, the Spartan provisions are a reminder that the museum is certainly not a consumer temple either.  _{Arie Hartog}
