Yes architecture – no architecture 2006, studio extension, Künstlerhaus Bremen

During the open house at the Künstlerhaus Bremen, the entrance to my studio, with an apparently massive Cubist spatial placement, was closed off. While visitors seemed to be excluded at first, after entering the studio through a side entrance they discovered that from an interior perspective the situation was quite the contrary—the spatial placement allowed stepping two meters out of the studio.

Yes architecture – no architecture describes the dualistic principle of architecture. The perception of architecture as something manmade from an external point of view; based on philosophical distance, as something given from an internal point of view. Possibility and impossibility in equal measure.
